Blustein, Shapiro, Frank & Barone, LLP has recently established a scholarship fund at the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan to support the needs of graduating high school seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in the legal field.

Given the important role that the legal system plays in our democracy, my partners and I thought establishing a legal scholarship through the Community Foundation would be a powerful way to give back to the community that has given us so much.”

The Blustein, Shapiro, Frank & Barone Scholarship Fund will award at least one $500 scholarship per year to a student graduating from Goshen, Middletown, or Pine Bush high schools. As the fund grows over time, the amount of the scholarship award and/or the number of available scholarships awarded each year is expected to increase.
“We all recognize that the increasing costs of education can create hardships that students struggle to overcome. We want to do our part to support those who have the potential to enrich our American judicial system. We hope others will join us in this endeavor by making contributions to the BSF&B Scholarship Fund.”

Interested students can apply for the scholarship through the Community Foundation’s online portal, beginning next year. A committee of BSF&B attorneys will review the applications each year, and select a recipient based on the quality of his or her application responses.
