Susie has over 19 years’ legal experience working as counsel on real estate and commercial transactions. Prior to joining BSF&B, Susie worked on private equity real estate investments, commercial banking and investment contracts, economic development investments, and contract procurement matters for the City’s five pension funds at the New York City Comptroller’s Office in New York, N.Y., as Associate General Counsel. Prior to this, she spent time as Counsel, Real Estate, for the New York City Economic Development Corporation in New York, N. Y., working on real estate development, economic development strategy, and commercial leasing transactions for Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s administration.
At BSF&B, Susie continues to practice in the area of commercial transactions, focusing on commercial real estate matters, buying or selling a business, commercial leasing transactions, and commercial landlord/tenant matters, along with residential real estate and landlord/tenant matters. Additionally, she works in BSF&B’s Elder Law practice on guardianship proceedings and surrogate matters. She continues her municipal practice serving as Counsel to the Palisades Interstate Park Commission (PIPC) and as Code Prosecutor for the Town of Thompson, Sullivan County.
Dedicated to the local community, Susie serves on the Board of Directors and is Second Vice President of the Orange County Land Trust (OCLT). She also serves as Chair of OCLT’s Board Development Committee, and as Vice President of the Women’s Bar Association of Orange & Sullivan Counties. She is a past board member of the Wallkill River Center for the Arts, as well as her homeowner’s association.
Susie graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Cornell University, her Master of Arts in American Studies from the University of Notre Dame, and received her law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University.
She is admitted to practice law in New Jersey as well as New York, where she has been admitted since 2005.
Prior to law school, she worked on Capitol Hill for the late Congresswoman Patsy T. Mink, who was the first Asian American woman elected to Congress and author of Title IX.
Susie grew up in Goshen, N.Y. and attended the Goshen Central School District, graduating from Goshen High School as valedictorian of her class. She currently lives in Goshen with her husband, also a Goshen native, and their two children.
